BTS’s Jin Confirms Enlistment Date In A Message To ARMYs
Jin addresses the previously reported enlistment details with an important request for fans.
A few hours ago, multiple Korean media sources reported that BTS‘s Jin will be enlisting in the military on December 13, providing details about his boot camp and where he’ll be stationed during his service. Neither Jin nor his management immediately confirmed the reports at the time; Jin recently took to Weverse to address fans himself.
BTS’s Jin struck pride in fans when BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed that he withdrew his request to delay his military service and would be enlisting by the end of the year.
The surprise announcement followed the group’s massively successful Yet To Come in Busan concert, performed in front of 50,000 people at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium and an additional 50 million people who live-streamed the concert from home.
Along with the announcement about Jin canceling his request for the delay of his service, it was also announced that the rest of the BTS members would also “carry out their military service based on their own individual schedules.”
By making the announcement, the group powerfully reclaimed the narrative driven by ongoing media, government, and netizen debate surrounding the possibility of South Korea’s government exempting BTS from their mandatory military service, which the group never requested. When speaking on the delicate subject, the group repeatedly expressed their intent to complete their service.
Media reported earlier today that Jin will go through boot camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi province for five weeks and will be deployed to the frontline units for the remainder of his military service.
When asked for a statement, HYBE Labels initially stated that the details were hard to confirm.
It is difficult to confirm the reports. Please understand.

Jin has just spoken out about the reports, seemingly confirming them in a message to ARMYs on Weverse.
Jin began by letting ARMYs know he hadn’t wanted the information released that way, leaving a thoughtful message to fans and proving he’s always thinking of ARMYs.
Although an article I hoped wouldn’t be published was [released], ARMY, you can’t come to the training camp ㅠㅠ There will be a lot of other people there besides me, and it might be dangerous due to the chaos. I love you, ARMY.
Jin expressed his wish for ARMYs to cheer him on without coming to the training camp for their safety.
